It was the early 2000's and Glenn Andrews was working at one of the leading ROI providers. Even though his company was electronically distributing records, he saw how hard it was for health organizations to see what was really going on in their HIM departments. And the systems weren’t sophisticated enough to do QA before release, or expedite release and collections. So, he decided to build a web-based platform to solve this.
In 2006, ScanSTAT was born. Soon enough, hospitals were asking ScanSTAT to take all of their ROI complications off their plate – not just the technology part, but the services side, too. So the offerings were expanded to include complete outsourcing of ROI. With onsite teams taking care of everything – from processing requests, to releasing records, to greeting patients at the front desk – ROI became easier for everyone.
Fast forward to 2020 – the company had been growing into new areas like document filing, and saw the opportunity to significantly expand their footprint while adding new capabilities. And they did just that by acquiring DataFile Technologies, a well-respected pioneer in the document management space.
Today, ScanSTAT is the largest founder-owned release of information company in the country. We're making things easier for over 50,000 providers across the United States. And we're bringing this uncomplicated approach to everything from ROI to chart abstraction to prior authorization.
