October Events — Part 2

As we mentioned in part 1 of our October events series, this month has been full of road trips and we’ve doubled our conference coverage! So far this month we’ve been on the West Coast with AHIMA and MGMA as well as Dallas with our partners at eClinicalWorks. Now, we’re heading East for CHCANYS and GE CHUG – come say hi!

CHCANYS: October 23rd – 25th – Saratoga Springs, New York:

This fantastic conference is just for community health centers in New York state. It’s our first time attending and we’re so excited to join in on the three days of learning and talking about how we can help community health centers do more with less.

Schedule a time or stop by booth 57 in City Center ABC to learn how we help cut costs from your bottom line and the benefits our customers receive through our certification from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. While you’re at our booth, grab some cotton candy and other sugary delights to keep you fueled up for all of the exciting networking and classes!

GE CHUG: October 26th – 28th – New Orleans, Louisiana:

Who’s ready for a good time in the big easy? We sure are! GE Centricity is one of our amazing partners so we’ll be at this impactful conference to support them and meeting with users. In fact, we’re bringing along one of our internal power users, Hilary Bias, a former practice administrator who joined us after years of using our services within GE Centricity. She’s a master at optimizing workflows and has been in your shoes, maximizing reimbursement dollars and keeping costs low.

Between beignets and hurricanes, schedule an appointment or stop by our booth to chat with Hilary and the rest of our experts on-site. And of course, battle the early mornings with a sugar rush from our giant candy buffet!

He’s loaded with knowledge on how our solutions are going beyond basic release of information to address orthopedic practices’ specialized needs. Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC) Conference –

August 27th-30th – Indianapolis, Indiana:

As we look ahead to interoperability, DataFile knows that interoperability does not mean automation. Behind every machine there is a human element and the need for experts to understand the critical workflows and relationships that are key to keeping your practice running. In effort to stay on the forefront of health information and healthcare industry changes, it’s key for our leadership to have the relationships and education that it takes to be innovators in health information so that DataFile can continue to be the partner you’ve come to trust with your PHI.

That’s why our leadership including our CEO — Janine Akers, CIO – Trent Peters, and CMO – Joy Milkowski will be attending the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative conference. Here our leadership team will collaborate with other thought leaders within the industry to create innovative strategy that ultimately improves access to patient data, quality, coordination, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare. They will then bring back their knowledge and relationships gained through this collective to ensure that DataFile is acting not only in the most forward thinking manner regarding health information, but also to educate our clients and partners to create a practice that ensures their patients ability to access their critical health data in the quickest and least costly manner possible.

Copper, Dapper and Fun! The 2016 DataFile Penny Wars

DataFile Technologies recently engaged in a friendly Penny Wars competition to fundraise and fun-raise for our favorite charity, Synergy House. Synergy House is a short-term emergency shelter that serves young people ages 12 to 18 who are in crisis due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness or running away and is the only shelter of its kind in western Missouri. Synergy House also offers care and assistance to young children and women victimized by abuse.

The week-long Penny Wars at the DataFile offices were filled with lots of activities and friendly competition, including campaign speeches, a putt-putt contest, a raucous parade around the office and Friday’s “Dress like a Golfer Day” let the most dapper of our DataFilers really shine!kristen-darrach-and-sara-mccall

Six employee volunteers were not only campaigning for copper from their co-workers, they were also vying for one of two spots to represent DataFile Technologies at the upcoming Swing for Synergy Golf Tournament to be held later this month.

Besides filling the golfer candidate’s jars with pennies, the more entrepreneurial among us baked and sold cookies, peddled pizza by the slice, hawked hotdogs and dealt donuts to appeal to our snackin’ side. Season ticket holders donated and raffled their own Royals and Chiefs tickets and raised even more money for Synergy.

At the conclusion of the Penny Wars, Janine Akers, CEO of DataFile stated, “I’m so impressed with the enthusiasm demonstrated this week – and more importantly, for the money we generated – that all six of our candidates will Swing for Synergy and represent DataFile at the upcoming golf outing.”

Proceeds from the DataFile Penny Wars totaled more than $2300 (and change too, of course!) and all of it will stay right here in our local community to provide emergency care, necessities and assistance to youth and families in crisis.
